The Evil Empire... loses!!!

Last night the inevitable happened... as part of my quest to visit every ballpark in the country, I had to visit Yankee Stadium for a Yankees game. They were playing the Twins. (Matt LeCroy is from Clemson, their catcher) I rode into the city with Mindy and then met Chris at Mindy & Anthony's apartment. It started raining but cleared up after we ate pizza at 86th & Lexington and hopped on the 4 train to the Bronx. I got some pretty nice pics of the stadium -- our seats were in the upper section along the 3rd base line. One of the highlights of the game was when an idiot Yankees fan decided to jump the fence and ran across the outfield and slid into 2nd base. He was arrested immediately on the spot, and it just goes to show the stupidity of the typical pinstriped fan. To sum things up in a nutshell, the Twins had a 6-0 lead at one point, Yankees came back and scored 3 runs (it was A. Rod's 30th b-day or something), and then the Twins' 1B Justin Morneau hit a home run in the 8th to cap it off 7-3. Great game, and many thanks to Abhar who picked me up from the White Plains train station at 12:25 am. I can safely say now that Yankee Stadium doesn't hold a candle to Fenway Park, and it is definitely the crappiest ballpark of the ones I've been to (Fenway, Turner Field, Metrodome, Busch Stadium, PNC Park). 6 down, many to go. Go Twins, Go Red Sox!
